I am going to have dinner with my mother (who is actually deceased in real life) at a restaurant that I happen to know that my crush is at with his whole company. Throughout the time I am there, I occasionally spot him but do not go to meet him. I keep waiting for him to notice I am there, but it seems like every time we have some possibility to bump into each other it doesn’t happen. I can’t tell if he is avoiding me or if I am imagining opportunities. Eventually I get into my car to go home and someone who seems like him appears, but it’s not him and I am upset.
Dreams can be deeply personal and subjective, often reflecting our emotions, experiences, and relationships. Here's a possible interpretation of your dream:
Dinner with Your Deceased Mother: Dreaming about a deceased loved one, particularly a parent, often signifies a desire for connection or unresolved feelings. Having dinner with your mother may symbolize a longing for comfort, guidance, or nostalgia. It could also indicate a need for support as you navigate relationships or emotional situations in your life.
Crush in the Background: The presence of your crush may represent your feelings of desire and attraction. You might be feeling vulnerable about your romantic interests or experiencing anxiety about expressing your feelings. The fact that he is at the same restaurant but you don't interact could indicate feelings of insecurity or self-doubt regarding your worthiness or ability to connect with him.
Missed Opportunities: The recurring theme of missed interactions suggests feelings of frustration or helplessness. You might be feeling shy or uncertain about taking the initiative in your waking life, particularly regarding your crush. This aspect of the dream could also point to underlying fears of rejection or the idea that you are not being noticed when you want to be.
The Confusion at the End: The moment when someone who resembles him but isn't him appears can symbolize disappointments in love or the confusion that comes with longing for someone who may not reciprocate your feelings. This twist could also reflect a fear of idealizing someone and then discovering that reality does not match your expectations.
Overall, this dream seems to reflect a mix of nostalgia, longing for connection, and the complexities of vulnerability, particularly in the context of love and intimation. It might be an invitation for you to reflect on your feelings about your crush, your relationship with your mother, and how you navigate your emotions in romantic situations.
